We have been informed by the vendor that the BCM Telephone System is no longer going to be sold from the 1st of March 2012, but will continue to be supported for a while to come.
As we see it, existing BCM operators have the following options going forward:
1. Stay as you are.
The BCM Telephone System is an incredibly robust system that continues to perform well in hundreds of thousands of businesses up and down the country. There remains the option for us to expand your telelphone system for you should you need to increase users and/or add functionality.
As such, if you are happy with your current setup then you can stay as you are, with 1st Communications here to offer you maintenance, support and expansion options until the 1st of March 2015.
2. Upgrade to the latest BCM Release.
An advisable alternative is to upgrade to the latest BCM Release as this will be supported by 1st Communications until the 1st of March 2018.
This will allow you to continue to benefit from the investment that you have already made in your organisation’s communications.
With the upgrade to the latest BCM Release, you keep your existing telephone system, setup and phones, while at the same time being able to take advantage of the following extra business enhancing features and functionality:
- Find Me, Follow Me, where you can be contacted on a single number wherever you are at any particular time.
- Secure Remote Working without the need for a VPN.
- Enhanced Meet Me Conferencing, where you can establish a teleconference of up to 60 callers.
Upgrades to the latest BCM Release start from £140.00 + VAT.
3. Take out an Annual Maintenance Contract.
1st Communications Telephone Maintenance helps you reduce your organisational costs, minimise the risk of downtime and gain the convenience of a single point of contact for the support of your Telephone System.
If you don’t already have a maintenance contract with us, we would strongly advise you to look at putting a plan in place going forward, thus ensuring that you are not caught out should something go wrong.
Our maintenance plans generally cover the replacement of all equipment listed on the agreement and the labour required to resolve the fault based on normal and fair wear and tear, with industry leading response and clear times included as standard.
Our maintenance options start from £300 + VAT per annum.
4. Migrate to the Avaya IP Office.
A method has been put in place to allow you to migrate and evolve your existing BCM to the Avaya IP Office with as little disruption to you and your business as possible.
By taking this route, you can:
- Save up to 60% on buying a new telephone system by keeping your existing phones and peripherals.
- Keep your existing setup that you are used to, with settings, voicemails and keycodes largely staying the same.
With the migration to Avaya IP Office, you can also take advantage of the following productivity boosting and cost saving features and functionality:
- Enhanced Home Working.
- True Hot Desking.
- Improved Mobile Working.
- Seamless access to your communications through your smart phone.
- Cost savings through SIP trunking and number portability.
