Flexiant Powers ITEX’s Self-Provisioning Cloud Platform

Flexiant, a provider of cloud orchestration software in Europe, has announced that ITEX, a provider of technology solutions for offshore markets, has chosen the Livingston, Scotland-based company for its self-provisioning cloud infrastructure platform.

“Flexiant has enabled us to win new business. It’s as simple as that,” Richard Parker, Market Development Director at ITEX, said. “Our offshore business customers are constantly looking to improve resource utilization, increase automation and flexibility, and reduce the time required to roll out new business applications. With our new cloud services platform, they can do just that.”

“By deploying Flexiant, we have been able to transform our existing IT resources and data centers into a pool of infrastructure resources which can be allocated to clients in a matter of minutes, rather than weeks and months,” Parker continued. “What’s more, as a cloud platform we can now deliver services far beyond our Channel Islands location to practically anywhere in the world, opening up a significant new opportunity for us.”

The Channel Islands-based company hosts a semi-private cloud using its own data center. Since it handles offshore accounts, its clients, engaged in a variety of activities ranging from finance to online gaming, are sensitive about their privacy.

Flexiant’s software has allowed ITEX to turn their existing hosted desktop service into a full cloud computing operation. They can provide self-service solutions to their clients, allowing rapid deployment of infrastructure on a pay-per-use basis.

Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator makes this possible. The fully automated software suite allows customers to deploy cloud computing environments in seconds. The package allows providers to both manage and monitor their customers’ usage of their cloud computing and bill them accordingly. Providers also have charge-back abilities. As well as ITEX’s internal use, they’re offering Cloud Orchestrator as a turnkey service for their clients.

“In addition to offering its own cloud infrastructure service based on our platform, ITEX will be reselling Flexiant Cloud Orchestrator to system integrators and software development firms as a white label cloud service. This will allow ITEX to expand, seek out new market opportunities and build an annuity-based revenue stream,” Flexiant CTO, George Knox said.
