Infineta Systems Announces Availability of FlowTune QoS Feature-Set
Avaya
Infineta Systems stated that the new FlowTune is the industry’s first ever Quality of Service (QoS) feature-set for critical applications, including high-speed replication and data backup.
The service provides Data Mobility Switch (DMS), the market’s first Big Traffic WAN Optimization solution designed to offer instant 5-10x bandwidth capacity gains, IP traffic acceleration and critical application prioritization for inter-data center workflows such as replication, long distance ‘live’ migrations, massive file transfers and big data.
The new FlowTune enhances the features present in the DMS and helps users avert network congestion caused by competing application flows with its ability to manage app transmission rates through dynamic and transparent processes.
Using FlowTune, one can also attain their recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO), and apply cost-effective WAN alternatives such as MPLS for overall OPEX (News – Alert) reduction.
Infineta’s program consists of a unique set of algorithms and technologies built on an industry-first custom hardware platform. The product accelerates up to 10Gbps of highly aggressive traffic between data centers.
“For far too long, enterprises have been forced to either cut corners on business goals such as RPOs/RTOs, or divert a large portion of the IT budget to expensive WAN bandwidth in the form of point-to-point circuits,” said Haseeb Budhani, chief product officer for Infineta Systems.
With data growth driving massive replication and backup needs for all enterprises, there needs to be a way to mitigate the WAN bottleneck. FlowTune makes it possible for enterprises to prevent network congestion instead of forcing them to react to it, resulting in dramatically improved application performance.
Infineta understands the complexity of today’s applications and the performance required to manage application traffic across the enterprise, and its solution is capable of quickening the traffic between data centers.
