ZTE Deploys Red Bend Firmware in More Platforms for Telecom Sector
Avaya
Red Bend Software, a provider of mobile software management (MSM) solutions, announced that Chinese telecom equipment major, ZTE (News – Alert) has implemented Red Bend’s vRapid Mobile firmware in several of its new telecom platform deployment solutions including equipment, terminals and network solutions.
The Chinese company has in fact extended the adoption of the firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updating software and vDirect Mobile device management software to ZTE mobile devices based on Linux and Android (News – Alert) using platforms from Spreadtrum and MTK.
ZTE has been a customer of Red Bend since 2007. Company officials confirm that to date more than 30 ZTE mobile phones and connected devices use Red Bend’s software to make the mobile user experience continuously better.
The telecom equipment major chose Red Bend platform for deployment in its solutions considering the company’s strong market performance, innovative solutions, support for OMA DM standards and professional and responsive customer support.
“In the rapidly changing telecommunications industry, device manufacturers such as ZTE are able to stay competitive by providing a compelling user experience, innovative devices and seamless services,” said Danny Wang, country manager of Greater China for Red Bend Software (News – Alert), in a statement.
“We’re proud to contribute to ZTE’s success by enabling them to provide new features and software improvements to mobile devices over the air,” Wang added. “By making the mobile user experience continuously better using Red Bend’s market-leading software, ZTE is increasing consumer satisfaction and strengthening its brand loyalty.”
A recent TMC piece says mobile device adoption boosts telecom platform deployment, citing a blog post from telecom platform deployment solutions provider NEI (News – Alert).
According to NEI, carriers are making the decision to invest heavily in infrastructure to increase revenue and lower bid costs. As the adoption of more mobile devices takes place every day, the traffic growth is helping to push this telecom platform deployment trend.
